Meet Our Makers of Possible
-
Software engineer. Gospel musician. Family man.
BD provides very robust learning, growth and development opportunities, it’s pretty incredible. BD does not expect you to know everything, they are willing to support you as you do learn and grow. It’s awesome to know my leader is in my corner and has my back.
-
Newlywed. Runner. Cookie Maker. Systems Engineer.
My leader is a graduate of the Technology Leadership Development Program (TLDP) and is very supportive. She does not hesitate to give us props and recognition and keeps our learning, development, and growth top of her mind. I really believe in the work we are doing and the impact we make at BD is staggering.

Applying a Growth Mindset at BD
It’s a balance some days, making sure the plant is running efficiently while working through some special projects, but that’s when I remember the support of my leaders and my team and the strong support I get from my wife and child at home -- I feel like I can accomplish anything.
-
Software Engineer driven by BD Purpose
If you are curious at all about science and the technology that is being researched and developed, then BD is the place for you. I am still blown away by just how many medical solutions we have in the market and how much care the organization demonstrates for its associates.
-
Mom. Travel Enthusiast. Committed to Quality.
Not only am I able to make sure I am spending time with my two beautiful children, but I can also have a very fulfilling career at BD. It’s great when a company not only talks about work-life balance -- but actually supports its associates in living it every day.

When Advancing the World of Health™ Inspires a Career Choice
I’ve been a nurse for 23 years. It’s a little unusual for people to start in nursing and then become paramedics, but I’ve enjoyed both. Being a labor and delivery nurse for years taught me a lot and I enjoyed providing care. The skills I gained in both roles are completely transferrable to the work I do at BD.
-
No One-Size-Fits-All Career Path at BD
When I look around at so many other leaders within BD, it’s obvious that there is no one career path to leadership. Some of our leaders started in sales, R&D, marketing, or customer service. BD is a place where you can have different careers without ever leaving the company.
-
Botany, Reading, Meditation, and BD
Our culture empowers us to do the right thing to move our business forward and keep getting better in all that we do. I feel valued, and I have found a place where I can share my opinions. My passion and ideas can help fight many different diseases and the well-being of patients all over the world.
-
The Power of Staying Positive
If I demonstrate that I’m motivated and show up with a positive mental attitude, it rubs off on the team. I believe that it’s critical to be a role model for my team for us to succeed. We are the creators of opportunities that push the limits of possible when it comes to career journeys and goals.

Honoring your Calling through a Career at BD
The most transformative experience I’ve had at BD, over my 17 years here, is getting to know our people. Connecting with our BD associates from different countries, and hearing about their passion for solving customers' challenges; Their passion has continued to inspire me to do a better job, every day,
-
From MD to VP of Medical Affairs
I love working in the med-tech space because I’m able to influence the development of new solutions to healthcare problems. It is rewarding to know that the work I do makes a difference to patients. I believe the culture at BD is very people-oriented.
-
A Sales Career Influenced by Dad
Where I came from keeps me striving and working hard to do more and to help others. During my time outside of work, I’ve established a 501(c)(3) non-profit that builds awareness around migrant farm workers, through which we have raised $17,000 to help six students with scholarships.
-
Sales by Day; Jedi at Night
The BD culture is focused on development. The key is in communicating your career intent and where you want to go within the company – and then working hard in your current role. By showing a strong work ethic in your current role, you demonstrate to others the value and contribution you can bring and make.

Celebrating More than 20 Years with BD in Sandy
I’m the raw material buyer for the plant over chemicals and resins that are then used to manufacture our catheters and IVs for customers. I’ve seen many renovations, additions, and everything in between. It’s just a big, beautiful clean site to work at.
