With two small children at home and a very busy career with BD as a software engineer, Reema Chaudhary loves the roles she plays both in and out of the office.
Having been with BD for four years, Reema has held several different roles in engineering quality – from working on pilot projects to new device launches. It’s a role that keeps her feeling motivated and energized by the work she does in the R&D Center in Chandigarh, India.
“I’ve been working in the technology space for the past 15 years and I was so happy and grateful to have found BD from a work-life perspective,” said Chaudhary. “Not only am I able to make sure I am spending time with my two beautiful children, but I can also have a very fulfilling career at BD. It’s great when a company not only talks about work-life balance -- but actually supports its associates in living it every day.”

Chaudhary explains that she feels the best part about her career at BD is the impact she can have on testing and confirming the quality and level of care BD puts into each of its devices and solutions. The other element that she appreciates is how her teammates and leaders focus on helping each other be great.
“Our products have to be of the highest quality possible. I love that I am making this possible through my own role. This supplies me with so much pride and confidence,” said Chaudhary. “As for the culture, it’s so supportive, and inspirational and I think that is because the Chandigarh associates and leaders support shared beliefs and the BD Way. The pandemic really helped us forge a stronger bond overall as a team and center through Virtual Forums and Coffee Chats, etc. BD is a very special place. When I shut down my laptop at the end of every day, I feel very accomplished.”
Travel, Books, Dancing and More
“I am a total travel enthusiast. I love exploring and going to places that are quaint and less explored than others that are more popular. I always bring a book or two with me as well. Self-Help books have my attention at the moment. I’m also big into dancing and actually trained myself in various Indian and Western Dance forms,” noted Chaudhary. “Dance is a really unique medium that helps connect me spirituality to life and allows for different states of consciousness to be achieved. It’s such a great stress buster! And reading is a tonic for the brain – even if you are reading something fictional, I feel like it helps re-wire the brain to help it re-generate and re-energize.”
