Our vision for Urology and Critical Care at BD
Urology and Critical Care (UCC) is an established and trusted partner in urinary healthcare, developing complete solutions which optimize the urine drainage process in the Acute Care Hospital setting.
Key responsibilities will include:
Verify and document new patient insurance coverage and coordinate costs for supplies to communicate the order cost to both the patient and billing.
Re‐verify existing patient insurance coverage to ensure that repeat order cost and eligibility is communicated to the patient and the billing department.
Contact insurance carriers to request any patient prior authorizations.
Verify insurance coverage through HIPAA and regulatory complaint out bound phone calls or the provider’s online portal.
Communicate insurance eligibility with sales or medical billing operations for each new and existing patient to complete the sale or obtain further medical documentation.
Communicate externally with patients to explain information received relative to their insurance benefit and how it relates to their medical supply purchase.
Develop and maintain knowledge in medical terminology, billing and insurance guidelines.
Track daily production and submit daily log to direct supervisor.
About you: To be successful in this role, you require:
Minimum of High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to Meet Production/Quality Metrics: ability to produce one (1) completed insurance verification every 9‐11 minutes on average, with an error rate of 3.5% or less each calendar quarter. Production and quality standards are at the sole discretion of management.
Minimum 1-year medical industry, insurance company or call center/customer service experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical supply publications, technical procedures, and/or training tools.
