Manufacturing Supervisor

This includes providing leadership in day-to-day manufacturing operation activity, employee career development, and overall coaching support to the manufacturing team.

Summary
The Supervisor position will be responsible for managing one or more of the production lines in our manufacturing facility. The role reports to the Operations Manager.   This individual must have strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities as well as demonstrated knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles.   They must also demonstrate a high level of commitment to safety and quality.   The ideal candidate will possess previous supervisory experience and a proven track record of continuous improvement accomplishments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading one or more production lines consisting of approximately 20-40 employees each

  • Coach and mentor team members on all aspects of their jobs including but not limited to safety, quality, attendance, and productivity

  • Promote a positive work environment by recognizing team accomplishments and encouraging continuous improvement

  • Implement all corporate, local, and regulatory safety requirements and enforce proper ergonomic techniques to reduce the risk of injury

  • Ensure all products produced meet all internal and external specifications and are delivered on time

  • Work closely with Quality Control to ensure all products meet all requirements

  • Work closely with Supply Chain to understand line balancing requirements and communicate any changes needed to meet customer demands

  • Communicate regularly with Operations Management regarding concerns, issues, and opportunities for improvement

  • Complete required paperwork such as training forms, incident reports, and 5S audits

  • Participate in daily Gemba walks to coach teams on improvements needed


Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making ability

  • Effective communicator both written and verbally

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English

  • Flexibility to move between departments as needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred

  • Experience working in a regulated medical device industry preferred

  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles desired

3rd Shift: 10:00PM - 6:00 AM
