Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician/Operator works under supervision of the Process Manager in the production area performing assigned tasks within the department. The position must be able to perform all functions of their designated cell independently after training period. This includes filling, assembling, packaging, inspection, and shipping of product. In addition, this position will also have the responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment, complying with established safety procedures, participating in scheduled team meetings and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Performs all duties as required by the Process Manager or designated representative.
Maintains a safe working environment. Complies with established safety procedures. Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Adheres to applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Works efficiently to minimize downtime. Reports any equipment problems or quality issues immediately to the Process Manager.
Capable of operating all equipment in the manufacturing area.
Loads and unloads materials manually or using hoists.
Packages product into containers of various sizes. May perform basic maintenance on packaging equipment.
Performs simple inspections and quality checks.
Assembles products.
Fills containers with product.
Labels product correctly.
Performs basic housekeeping functions of sweeping, straightening, etc., to keep the work area in order.
Uses computerized systems to enter data and print reports as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience preferred.
Skills: Mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to read, write and speak English.
Other: Basic computer skills, mathematical aptitude helpful.
