Ready to join a passionate team as a Tool and Die Maker? As our Tool and Die Maker, you'll be responsible for performing basic set-up and operating machine shop equipment using applicable tools. You'll apply basic mechanical techniques to assemble or repair various machine parts, while demonstrating your shop mathematics skills and understanding of metal properties and layout procedures used in machining parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties of Machine shop to include operating CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment within prescribed tolerances and allowances.

  • Perform fabrication of equipment, parts, and shielding where strong welding, sheet metal, and other related skills are required.

  • Study specifications, such as blueprints, hand-drawn sketches or description of part to be replaced and plan sequence of operations to repair or reproduce part as required.

  • Plan and lay out work from oral or written specifications, using the necessary hand and machine tools, instruments, and related equipment.

  • Make necessary shop computations using metric, decimal, and fractional measures of length.

  • Perform simple welding and soldering as needed.

  • Organize workflow when mass producing new or replacement parts for manufacturing equipment.

  • Work efficiently and cooperatively with supervision and other fellow employees.

  • Maintain a reasonably clean work area and report safety hazards to Supervision.

  • Perform any miscellaneous duties that might be assigned by Supervision.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures and QSR.

  • Follow all applicable specifications, plant policies, and Departmental Procedures.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of machining or relatable experience or equivalent Technical School Degree in related field

  • Vocational / Technical School (preferred)

  • Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and schematics.

  • Knowledge of machining equipment and capable of operating CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment

  • Possess general mechanical knowledge of equipment to troubleshoot production equipment problems and resolve either by adjusting or repairing.

  • Knowledge of welding and tool room equipment is a plus
